River Park Swimming Pool
After months of debate, the Naples City Council
has made the right decision to proceed with building a new
aquatic center at the River Park Community Center. This
multipurpose project has the opportunity to benefit not only
members of this neighborhood, but the entire community.
Naples is a
world-class community and deserves a world-class swimming
pool. The challenge, of course, is funding the estimated $1.3
million project. The city has set aside $275,000 for the pool
in... READ

Annexation
Though there
are no specific proposals on the table at this time, the
issue of annexation and whether Naples should consider
expanding its boundaries regularly comes up during City
Council elections.
My stand on annexation is very simple – for it to make
sense, a neighborhood or group of residents must first
want to annex INTO the City and not be seeking to annex
OUT of the County. Too often, a group of citizens proposes
annexation as a means of ending a sour relationship rather

Outdoor
Live Entertainment
These are extraordinary economic times and
many businesses throughout our community are struggling to

entertainment in the city. Sitting as the Community
Redevelopment Agency, the Naples City Council has voted to
allow live entertainment...

Storm Water Management
Storm water
management is a very serious issue in
Naples. Specifically, how we handle storm water
runoff. Storm water runoff is the rain that falls on the

and sewers. If rain falls on permeable surfaces like
grass, sand or material specifically designed to be
permeable, most of it will be absorbed into the ground.
Storm water runoff creates
two problems. First, heavy rains flood our yards and
streets. To solve...

Celebration Church
Celebration
Church holds services at the Cambier Park band shell each
Sunday, unless another activity is scheduled for the park
on that day.
Services began at Lowdermilk Park in March 1997. After
some turmoil, the city moved the congregation out of
Lowdermilk Park to Cambier Park at the end of 2000 because
of noise issues in the Coquina Sands neighborhood. The
move was to be temporary until the church found a
permanent...
